Camping for Craig's Birthday

Last week, my wonderfully adorable husband turned 24. With all of the holiday stuff going on this month, we decided to celebrate this weekend. We were hoping there would be fewer campers to share the mountain with and we were right.

We (Deana, Jen, Charles, Joe, Craig, Brayden and me) drove straight up to Soapstone after work yesterday and found the perfect spot. It was just secluded enough to be surrounded by trees and our little car easily made it up the path.

This was the first time Brayden has come camping with us, so it was nice to be surrounded by friends that could help us keep an eye on the little guy. He was in heaven the whole weekend. Camping is pure bliss for little boys.

Deana brought up her 4-wheeler for us to play on. We all had a lot of fun taking turns until a ranger caught Craig and Brayden on their way back to camp. Apparently, you can ride around on most roads up here, but the ones that are restricted aren't marked. You have to find out before you come by looking it up on the Internet. It just so happened that one of those restricted roads was the one we camping off. It's less than a minute ride, but that one minute got Craig a ticket. I wasn't impressed and neither was Craig, so we were done with the 4-wheeler for the weekend.

There was still plenty to do. We went on hikes and played cards. And when I was too exhausted to keep up with Brayden anymore, Deana's dog, Lucky, took over. They had a lot of fun running around with each other.

Overall it was a good weekend. I wasn't thrilled when Charles, Deana and Jen left to go play with the Rainbow Rendezvous, but Craig, Joe and I had a peaceful evening around the campfire. I look forward to the future when we can go camping with other families with kids, just for my sanity.

Cowboy Hats at Walmart

My boys never cease to keep me laughing. While wandering through Walmart today, Craig found a bin of adult cowboy hats on sale. Knowing that Brayden has an unusually large head, we wanted to know if they would fit on him. Of course they fit!

And then Brayden started hamming it up. He was like my little model making all sorts of faces. We even got a peekaboo shot.

Swimming at Nana's

Craig's mom invited all of us to come over to play in her pool this afternoon. Brayden was a little uncomfortable by how large the pool was, but we still managed to have a really good time.

Shooting with my Hubby

One of the ways we decided to celebrate Independence Day this year was to go shooting on the west side of Utah Lake. I, personally, wouldn't want to mess with us. We look mean and we are getting pretty good.

Playing at West Jordan Park

Summer really is a great time of year when you can spend every evening out of the house doing something active. Today, we spent our evening at the West Jordan park. It is the most impressive park I have seen yet. Minus water, anything a kid could hope to play with is here.

We all had a really great time! I love watching my boys play together.

My Personal Army

While playing around at one of the playgrounds next the Murray's soccar field, we found this headless soldier. Each of the boys took their turn posing as a knight and each face is priceless.

Jumping on the Trampoline

First off, I want to tell you how much I love my little boy! He is so adorable and I can't help smiling when I watch him play.

We were at my parents' house today and it was gorgeous outside, so we were hanging out in the backyard. Considering how much of a klutz he is, Craig and I thought it would be cute to watch him jump on the trampoline. We were right!
