Brayden's Bike Ride

This morning, I walk along side while Brayden went on a bike ride. He rode around the church behind our house for almost thirty minutes before he got tired and wanted to rest.

We laid down in the shade by the front doors of the church and started counting things. We counted flags and clouds and trees and stairs. It was a lot of fun. Eventually I pointed out that we were sitting on a hill and that he should roll down it. He didn't know what I meant at first, but after showing him how fun it was, he joined in.

Our 4th Anniversary

Last Thursday marks four years since Craig and I were married. It really doesn't feel like it has been that long. I have officially been married to Craig for longer than I was in high school. Crazy!

So Thursday, Craig had these flowers delivered to our house while he was at work. When he got home, he took Brayden and I out to one of my very most favorite restaurants, Bonsai Japanese Stake House. This is one of those places where the chefs come out and cook right at your table. I was a little worried how Brayden would handle it, but he was great! He loved watching them set things on fire and bouncing the eggs on their spatulas. He was so cute! He asked me if the egg was a rubber egg because it wasn't cracking.

Today finishes out our anniversary celebration. Craig took me out to lunch and then to Hale Theatre to watch "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolored Dreamcoat". It was a really fun story to watch and the actors did an incredible job. Thanks to my wonderful husband for such a great week! I look forward to spending many more years with him.

Day at the Lake

Jan invited all of her kids up to the lake today to ride the wave runners and have dinner. Everyone besides Jill and CJ was able to make it. We all had so much fun!

Craig had never ridden on a wave runner before, so I had to show him how it was done. He did a really good job! He tends to catch on to new things very quickly.

Brayden had a lot of fun swimming with his uncles while we were out playing on the lake.

Craig gave Brayden a ride. Brayden was really excited until Craig got past the buoys and hit the gas. Then he freaked. Craig spent the rest of the ride idling around in the wake-less zone. Brayden liked this a lot better. He even got to help steer a little bit.

Once we were all tired out and hungry, we headed over to Jan's camp for dinner and S'mores. What a great way to spend a Sunday during the summer!

Sliding All By Himself

I took Brayden to Bouncin' Off the Walls this morning as an excuse to get out of the house. In the past, he has been rather clingy to me when we go down this slide. I mean, it is rather huge, but he acts really scared of it even when I'm holding his hand all the way up. Since then it seems like my little boy has grown up. He was doing it all by himself today.

The "Up" House

Every year, I try really hard to make it to the Parade of Homes. I love walking through different houses and seeing how different people choose to use the space. This year was really exciting for me because we are going to start the process of buying our first home next summer.

We saw quite a few amazing houses, but the one that stood out the most was the "Up" house. It looked just like the one in the Disney/Pixar movie. How cool would it be to actually live there?

They covered so many details. The kitchen was completely retro in design even though they had state-of-the-art appliances. There was a hidden room at the top of the stairs. The doors were disguised as bookshelves and the room was full of balloons. My favorite room was the front room. I felt like I had walked into the movie. The chairs and the mantel piece was dead on. I'm so glad we had the opportunity to get to see this. When we do finally buy our own home, I'm sure there will be quite a bit of Disney hidden away in that one, too.

Brayden's Desitin Incident

When I woke up this morning, I walked in the front room and saw white stuff smeared all over the carpet. It didn't take long to discover that the cause was Brayden playing with the Desitin. Honestly, I was surprised at how easily it cleaned up. Maybe I won't kill him today.
