Brayden's 3rd Week

Thursday the 22nd: It is an incredible feeling when a child trusts you enough to fall asleep on your chest. It is so peaceful and comfortable. I could stay like this forever.

Still Thursday: His face just looks so silly. I had to share.

Friday the 23rd: Grandma Furse holding her first grandson.Of course he's sleeping.

Monday the 26th: He has the best eyes. They are so blue. I hope they stay that way.

Wednesday the 28th: One of my mother's friends made this blanket for Brayden with his name and birth date on it. It is the softest blanket you have ever felt. Since he is officially three weeks old today, I wanted a take a picture of him with this blanket to show off.

Wednesday the 28th (again): I just love watching him sleep. He is so beautiful!

2 Week Check-Up

Now that Brayden is 2 weeks old, it was time to take him in for his first checkup. He is doing great. He is gaining weight like he should and his little body is perfect.

He really enjoyed moving around on the table. The paper underneath him crackled every time he moved and he couldn't get enough of it. His little muscles are growing so strong and he is slowly becoming more coordinated.

Brayden's Best Faces During His 2nd Week

Over the past week, Brayden has been making some of the cutest faces ever. Here are a few of my favorites.

These were taken Friday the 16th.

Total relaxation.

This is one of my favorites. Craig is the perfect daddy.

This is another favorite picture showing off my boys. These were taken Sunday the 18th. We went up the Craig's dad's to celebrate Mother's Day.

Zoe, Dominik, and Brayden

These last two were taken on Monday the 19th. He's not really a fan of the bath, but we'll keep working on it.

Brayden's First Week

I'm not going to lie.
I thought that a new baby would be a little more exciting, but so far all he does is sleep, unless it's time for me to sleep and then he wants to eat. He is ridiculously adorable though.

Brayden - Superstar!

Anyone that has had a baby will back me up when I say that you suffer from severe sleep deprivation until you can get that baby to sleep through the night. Well, we haven't managed that yet. And here is the result...

Capizzi's Visit Baby Brayden

Phil and Sharon brought Aunt Megan and Cousin Zoe to meet our little Brayden today. It was nice to have visitors in our home rather than at the hospital. It was so much more comfortable.

Zoe was fascinated by the little baby. Brayden wasn't so sure about the whole thing.

He is so adorable!

Craig is an incredible daddy. I love my boys!

It wasn't long before he was in the arms of his Grandma Capizzi. His face was priceless.

All the excitement of the day apparently wore him out. Sweet dreams, little guy.

Brayden's First Photo Shoot

While we were at the hospital, a lady offered to take Brayden's first professional pictures so we could send out announcements and such. The pictures were quite expensive, so Craig and I decided to do our own in home photo shoot. Brayden slept through the entire thing, but he was still really cooperative. These are my favorites.

In these pictures Brayden is laying on a NASCAR blanket that I made for Craig.

In the picture above and the picture below, Brayden is laying on Craig's baby blanket.

This final one is my absolute favorite. A lady that works with Craig gave us this basket full of baby clothes and supplies including the blanket and bear. Brayden looks so sweet and tiny. I freaking love this little guy!

Time To Go Home

Now that Brayden has finished with his quick little surgery, it's time to go home. Craig celebrated by giving Brayden his fist fohawk.

Like I promised last Christmas, this is the outfit that Brayden got to wear home from the hospital. He's so handsome!

Well, we are finally all ready to go. The car seat looks absolutely massive around such a tiny body. Now we are on our own. No more help from nurses. Wish us luck.

Brayden's First Bath

While I was being moved into a recovery room, Craig went with Brayden to the Nursery to give him his first bath.

This was a great chance for Craig to bond with his new son without having to worry about me.

The nurses were impressed with how comfortable Craig was with handling a newborn. Most dads are more awkward with the first bath, but not Craig. He's a natural. I'm so lucky that he's here to help me with this parenting thing.

After the bath, Brayden had a really hard time warming himself up again. I had to wait for quite awhile before I could hold him since he had to lay under a giant heating lamp to bring his body temperature back up.

Now that he's all clean you can tell how blond his hair is. So far he's looking more like my side of the family. He is so beautiful!

Introducing Brayden Spencer Capizzi

I am pleased to finally introduce our son, Brayden Spencer Capizzi. He finally decided to greet us just 3 days past his due date, but no hard feelings. Isn't he the cutest, most perfect thing you've ever seen!

After about thirteen and a half hours of laboring at St. Mark's Hospital I got my first look at the incredible child that I've cradled for the past nine months. It was incredible how much I recognized his face from the ultrasound pictures.

Brayden was born on May 7, 2008 at about 9:30 in the morning. He was 20 inches tall and weighed exactly 8 pounds.

Through my exhaustion, I loved watching Craig's reaction to his new son. I'm glad they got this moment together to hold hands and begin bonding. I love my little family!
