Brayden's First Bath

While I was being moved into a recovery room, Craig went with Brayden to the Nursery to give him his first bath.

This was a great chance for Craig to bond with his new son without having to worry about me.

The nurses were impressed with how comfortable Craig was with handling a newborn. Most dads are more awkward with the first bath, but not Craig. He's a natural. I'm so lucky that he's here to help me with this parenting thing.

After the bath, Brayden had a really hard time warming himself up again. I had to wait for quite awhile before I could hold him since he had to lay under a giant heating lamp to bring his body temperature back up.

Now that he's all clean you can tell how blond his hair is. So far he's looking more like my side of the family. He is so beautiful!

Introducing Brayden Spencer Capizzi

I am pleased to finally introduce our son, Brayden Spencer Capizzi. He finally decided to greet us just 3 days past his due date, but no hard feelings. Isn't he the cutest, most perfect thing you've ever seen!

After about thirteen and a half hours of laboring at St. Mark's Hospital I got my first look at the incredible child that I've cradled for the past nine months. It was incredible how much I recognized his face from the ultrasound pictures.

Brayden was born on May 7, 2008 at about 9:30 in the morning. He was 20 inches tall and weighed exactly 8 pounds.

Through my exhaustion, I loved watching Craig's reaction to his new son. I'm glad they got this moment together to hold hands and begin bonding. I love my little family!

Pregnant Bowling

I really needed to get out of the house tonight, so we invited our friend, Ashlie, to come bowling with us. We had tons of fun, but I wasn't all that impressed with my bowling performance. Having a baby hanging out in my belly already throws off my center of gravity. Add a bowling ball to my right hand and things just get worse.

Craig takes every chance that he can get to make me laugh. It would be completely against his nature to not pose for a booty shot.

This is Ashlie. She is so sweet! I love spending time with her.

So how is this for a belly shot? I am now 33 weeks along and I don't know if my belly can get any bigger. My doctor says I'll be fine, but I'm pretty sure I'm just going to pop.

Introducing Dominik Kolten Capizzi

Craig took me to the hospital where Krystal and Dominik are staying so we could meet our first nephew. He is so sweet and so tiny.

I'm so excited to hold my own baby soon. It's odd to think that Brayden isn't much smaller than this right now.

My First Car Accident

My poor car! We were minding our own business while driving in a parking lot when some stupid teenager backed out of his parking spot and into my car. I don't really feel old enough to use the phrase "stupid teenager" but it totally fits in this case. I was so mad that I wanted to jump out of the car and beat the kid, but my door was jammed shut so all I could do was sit there and cry. We had a police officer come and check things out and he confirmed that it was not our fault. That really simplified things when it came to whose insurance pays for what.

Since I am 30 weeks pregnant the insurance companies suggested that I check into a hospital to make sure everything is okay with the baby. I had to stay hooked up to a few monitors for what felt like forever, but they eventually sent me home. Everything is okay. Now I just need to wait for my car to get fixed.

Happy Belated Valentines Day!

We missed Valentine's Day last week, so we are celebrating it now. Pregnancy is really becoming exhausting, so Craig let us have a relaxing evening together. I made a rather delicious lasagna that we ate by candlelight in our matching pajamas. It was a wonderful evening. I can't believe this is our second Valentine's Day together. I love you, Craig!

6 Months Along

It's time for another shot of the Boob-do. What is a Boob-do, you ask. Well, Boob-do is what your belly is called when it sticks out further than your boobs do. Tee hee hee! I learned this from one of the ladies that I work with at the Fabric Center. Anyway, I'm about 25 1/2 weeks along. Less than 15 weeks left to go!
